Welcome to Karmageddon....
Karmageddon is what I jokingly refer to as spiritual overload or self help extreme.
I discovered the idea of Karmageddon around the time the term Carmageddon was popular as a term for "traffic" due to the closing and restructuring of the 405 freeway. It was like open heart surgery on the bloodline for all LA commuters.
Karma, we lovingly refer to as reaping what we sew, in the most basic and layman's terms. We purge Karma, we try to gain positive karma and release negative karma, we work off karma, I have even seen tip jars at Starbucks with signs that say: "Tip for good karma"
The more we learn about different religions the more we learn where they connect. The bible says "eye for an eye", in buddhisim there is Karma. It is a similar principle. Karma just can take many lifetimes where eye for an eye can be immediate. It keeps us within guidlines of morality and it keeps us in check.
Many of us are on a path, arguably everyone is. More and more people are discovering the path they are on is a spiritual one. As we move towards this concept we open ourselves up to what that means.
There are new age lifers that have been eating vegan and mediating and doing yoga since their underwater hypno birth. There are die hard bible belt religious people and the people in between. There are many who are just now opening more and more to the possibilities of collective conciousness, to a broader spiritual spectrum that includes the Power of Now, Quantum Physics, Law of Attraction and the Divine Light Awakening.
There is yoga of all kinds: Karma Yoga, Power Yoga Bikram Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Hot Yoga, Core Yoga, Thai Yoga Massage, Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Anusara Yoga, Laughter Yoga.... Holy Namaste!! That's alot of yoga to choose from!
Then a quick glance at our coices for Healing Modalities: Meditation, Reiki, Integrated Energy Therapy, Hypnotherepy, Past Life Regression, Rebirthing, Pranic Healing, Color Therepy, Healing with Crystals, Healing w/ Angles, Tapping or EFT, Ayurveda, Agape, Sonic Crystal Bowl Healing, Shamanistic Drumming, Vipassana, Tai Chi, Qigong..... to name a very few.
Every Tuesday night I am presented with a dilema. Do I address my highest spiritual self and my deepest passions by going to: 1) My Theater Group which is my acting class 2) Cosmic Om where I cherish my 4 hour medatations and satsang with Harishyam my meditation teacher or 3) go to Crystal Singing Bowls with Dominick at the ever so relaxing House of Intuition?
All of these options fall on the same night. Every Tuesday at the exact same time. Ironically a very fun comedy night also happens down the street at Pink Taco. Sometimes laughter and a margarita can be the best medicine, I believe this to be true although many of my die hard peers would disagree to the margarita... but to each his own.
That is the point of this Blog entry. Karmageddon to me, is the point when we are trying so hard to lift our "Spirits" to be the best we can be that our choices to achieve that become OVERWHELMING!! The point of all of the aforementioned meditating and healing and yoga-ing is to RELAX, to get in touch, to reach higher states of conciousness and to multipy our positivity and share it.
So many times I have heard people who stress out in the parking lot trying to get a space at Agape, or are rushing in traffic to get to yoga, or can't even go into their emails because they are bombarded with horoscopes, meet ups, and email flyers for retreats, classes, soulmate teleconfences etc.
Not to mention all these things can get expensive.
When you find yourself in the mist of Karmageddon, which I do every Tues, remember being spiritual is personal, its a choice not an obligation. Adding pressure to that which is meant to bring peace is completely a waste of energy. It is the opposite of the kind of energy you are trying TO generate.
When I choose Acting over meditation class I REMIND myself that acting to me is my meditation. It is my source of light. It is me at my highest.
If it's golfing that gets you to GOD go by ALL means GOLF!!! (I use God here as a term for what brings you joy, calm, peace, balance and brings you "home")
Life is already confusing, busy, demanding and draining, remember adding spirituality and growth into your life is meant to add positively not add pressure.
If you have to miss a yoga class or can't afford your membership this month...take an hour walk instead. Sit in your room and light a candle. Allowing yourself to stop and relax is FREE. We really never need a class or another person or teacher to get close to Source.
We need ourselves in a calm, unaffected space. We must MUST remember to nurture ourselves and REALLY LISTEN to what we need in each moment. Sometimes Yoga class is not the answer this week. Maybe watching Family Guy re-runs is!
All I am saying is don't get caught in Karmageddon. Be good to yourself, you're doing the best you can and what you really need you will find it and do it when the time is right.
As A Reiki Healer I say this with complete confidence. I may seem like I am saying you don't need me but on the contrary...when people stop and listen to what they deeply need everyone winds up where they belong, everyone wins and everyone is in a place of higher frequency.
So the next time you can't decide what to do with your night off or are pressuring yourself to get to a class on time or don't know if you should sign up for a retreat you don't know if you can afford....Ask yourself what would make you HAPPIEST and do it, then ABSOLUTELY do not judge yourself on the decision you make. Breath deep and realize you just made the healthiest choice possible.

SPIRITUAL GANGSTERS
Spiritual Gangster... I love it. I hope this term makes it into the Urban dictionary, if not Wikapedia.
It hasn't yet, and why? Perhaps because the term has not traveled outside a small group of spiritual "thugs" who consider themselves to be part of this unique tribe. I say this with an acute sence of humor and my infamous devilish, cheshire smile. I by no means use the term, Gangster or thug in any way to glorify those who commit crime, or violence.
I will be clear, all of us with an active ego should be aware of the" Gangster" nature lurking in our subconcious. Some of us feed into it daily: cursing like sailors in traffic, beating ourselves up about shoulda woulda couldas, numbing out by drinking, smoking, gambling, short fuses, arguments, white lies, self doubt, judgemnt, anxiety, worry, anger and the biggest one by entertaining any element of FEAR.
What does a gangster do? Invoke FEAR. What excites the Gangster? Any element of danger, wildness, darkness anything opposite of LIGHT.
Oh Yes, the Gangster is as alluring, badass and as rebellious as Johnny Cash in Black.
We are lured by the wild side, why because we each have our proverbial cross to bear. We each have our inner Gangster. Some say inner demon, I don't much like that word. Playfully we say...you got the devil in ya.
We are attracted to it like magnets. We love the Bad Boys and the Bad Girls. Why? What is that? It is because we IDENTIFY with it. No matter how good we aim to be eveything has a shadow. Good/Bad Light/ Dark Heaven/Hell... Spiritual/Gangster. I can almost hear Lana Del Rey's Gods and Monsters in the background.
It's a tale as old as time. Eve ate the apple, paradise lost, a fall from grace. Isn't that what we do on a daily basis when we chose negativity over positivity, we conciously can choose the path of paradise or distruction in every moment. We can be spiritual or a gangster. Most of us are by default, Spritiual Gangsters.
What is a Spiritual Gangster? If you are reading this, probably: Y.O.U.
We are all innately spiritual beings. Most wars are over Religion. The number one issue ironically preventing us from Peace on Earth is: Who is God?
We are spiritual beings searching for answers. We are spiritual no matter who or what we believe in because we strive to rise above struggle, poverty, heartbreak and difficulty and into freedom, safety, self acceptance and love. Kurt Cobain was not the only one on the path to Nirvana...we ALL are.
Deep down all we want is peace of mind, peace on earth. Something so simple is so far away and seemingly unattainable...enter the Gangster. The Gangster makes the simple into an elaborate scheme. To keep us guessing, to maintain a life filled with lessons, distractions and dark mysteries to solve. Why? Because we are "Spiritual Beings having a Human experience".
As Spirit we could maintain peace of mind peace on earth easily it is our true nature which we have simply forgotten.
So we have been given this gift "Ego" to perpetuate EXPERIENCE. Learning to see the light in the dark....find the light at the end of the tunnel. We are in the tunnel.
The Gangster is our human-ness our ego self, driving a wedge between who we strive to be and who tend to be at the grip of our ego.
The Gangster runs rampant in the streets of our spiritual highway. Guns loaded, ammo ready to drop bombs on our lofty thoughts to terrorize our minds with fear, doubt, worry, insecurity and indecision like a suicide bomber it will unleash its beast at the moment ultimate happiness is at our fingertips It is the ultimate sabatoger of our own good will.
The Gangster presents all kinds of temptation, all sorts of dark and cunning paths, cunning labrynths to steal you away from the light. The Gangster will lie, the Gangster will hide, the Gangster is a narccissist, selfish and wild, an arrogant fool. The ONLY way the Gangster survives is to create FEAR. Adrenline pumping though its center, it is so intense it can not be tamed. To kill the Gangster? Not if it can kill you first. This is Ego, the biggest, baddest Gangster of them all.
Let's get playful and LIGHT for a minute. Let's get back into the true SPIRIT of this blog entry. Where I first heard the term Spiritual Gangster and and why I love smashing these to dynamically radical and opposite words together...
Sex. Of course. Sex and Ego and Spirt, a divine manage a trois. Again she says with a devilish smile.
So, I first heard Spiritual Gangster from my friend Benny. He could be the head Gangster if there ever was one. He could be The Don, the King Spiritual Gangster of Spiritual Gangsterland.
He was describing the kind of guy I should be with or would be attracted to. He said. "Your man would have to be a Spiritual Gangster". I nodded and agian the cheshire grin, I agreed.
What he meant was a man deeply rooted in Spirituality, his sense of self being grounded and centered, strong and masculine but feminine enough to embrace Yoga, meditation, collective conciousnness, compassion, open minded and romantic BUT he would be Gangster in that he was wild, adventurous, slightly untamed, mischevious. He would have a dark quiet unrest and an alluring passion, a rebel with or with out a cause, someone rough around the edges with a gigantic heart and a blazing spirit, maybe he has a motorcycle and tattoos.
Yes! "Exactly".
Someone once told me if Jim Morrison was alive he'd be my Soulmate.
Jim Morrison=Spiritual Gangster. Are you starting to see it?
That's the aspect of the Spiritual Gangster that I EMBRACE. The aspect that made me want to start a clothing line called Spiritual Gangster ( only to find there already is one). Just because you do Yoga, Meditate, get energy healings, believe in Peace on Earth, Charity, Environmental Education, Greenpeace, NDRC, Animal Rights, Rebirthing, Chakra Balancing, Quantum Physics, Sacred Geometry, Angel Cards or whatever your into .....It does not make you a pussy, a sap, a hippie, a new age wierdo... it makes you AWARE, it makes you alive and part of an enormously growing movement and conciousness.
Some of the hottest, hipest, coolest people I know are Spirtual to the core. What you wear, the car you drive does not equate your spirituality quotent. Just because you meet a "hipster" don't assume they are not stiving to be spiritually aware. Or don't think a tattoed guy on a motorcycle doesn't meditate.
Don't be afraid to engage converstions with people by judging their outward appearance... people would never guess in a million years I was a Reiki Practitioner. I will say the majority of the people closest to me to this day are those who have come to me for a Reiki Healing because they see a SPIRITUAL side they never would have believed exisited and it was that part of me that they resonate with the most.
You choose this body. You choose this life as a spirit. You borrow it for an experience and the journey called, life. To have to highs the lows, the dark the light.
I'll never forget my first expereince at a Brian Kest Yoga class. I walked in to see a room full of tattooed ripped guys with six packs and some of the most beautiful women I'd ever seen. It was intimidating at first. Then it clicked, it wasn't about that. It was a room full of people working on their INSIDES. Just because someone rides a Harley, drinks a beer, wears a mini skirt, listens to metal, has tatoos, loves sex, does not mean they are not connected to the light. Being spritual doesn't mean being cut off from self expression. It means excepting self in all it's variations. The part of this term Spiritual Gangster I embrace is be who you are. Your inner gangster (ego) makes you YOU, it drives your challenges, it makes you compassionate to other people.
There is another term that HAS made it into not the urban dictionary but Wikapedia itself. That is SPIRITUAL WARRIOR.
"The Spiritual Warrior has resolved to attain Buddhahood in order to liberate others. The one who combates the universal enemy: self ignorance. A Spiritual Warrior's path is compassionatley to help others with wisdom."
A Gangster is seeking Power. But it seeks power from the depths of darkness. From Fear. Just like Ego. Meglomanic behavior,. A Gangster has no remorse it is cunning, decieving and will hurt with out hesitation or remorse. Feed me feed me feed me or you Die. I die you die.
A Warrior fights for a cause, his or her own beliefs based on fairness, passion, pride, faith and a deep sense of self. Why are there many stories of warriors outnumberd in battle who win? It is a faith, light driven belief system that has no time for Ego driven fear. A Warrior fights when all other options are exhausted, and they do fight to the death. It is a fearlessness, what I believe I am worth is worth it all.
If we enter battle with this mentality against ego nature we have a fighting chance. Our Gangster nature can be brutal pushing us through our lives like a bull in a china shop, masking true feeling, contact and communication with distraction and lack of grace.
I probably will date my fair share of Spiritual Gangsters because of the thrill, and because of the parts of me that haven't healed enough yet...to know better...because I too am still a little Gangster.
What do I strive to become and who do I strive to love? A Spiritual Warrior.
A Warrior is just as cool, just as strong, just as wild as a Gangster...I just imagine the internal dialog to be a bit different. Gangster, Warrior...wherever you are at, be you... strive to grow to be uniquely you and enjoy the ride.

YOU are the problem and YOU are the solution.
Who would have thought that my next Blog entry would come with words of wisdom NOT from Tony Robbins or Michael Beckwith or Eckhart Tolle or Esther Hicks or Louise Hay or Marianne Williamson...but from Kristen Wiig. Comedian/Actress and Writer of Bridesmaids currently in movie theaters across the U.S.
Bridesmaids is silly and campy and from the producers of Superbad, more importantly; it has heart. But this is not a movie review. This is about one line of dialog that struck a chord in me. Light bulb moment. "You are the problem AND the solution."
I used this statement with a client today who felt victimized by life and who felt everything was going "wrong". She wanted a break, one little break. I get it, we all get it. We have all been there. Here is the thing. Our ATTITUDE about whatever is going has the POWER. Not some outside force, your parents, your boss, your friends, boy/girl friends...YOU.
Esther Hicks and her husband Jerry Hicks talk about the Law of Attraction. There is ALOT to be said for that and millions of books sold on that mattter... but here is the thing. I personally, and this is only my opinion think: some things are simply out of your control. Good news is that this lets you take a proverbial load off. You don't control it all or have to!
All you really have to control is how to DEAL with what you can not control and your attitude. That is power. That is the enlightenment that the Buddhist talk about... the state of non-attachemnt. A level of safe detatchment to what is going on where it's neither all is good or all bad. It just is. It is about an acceptance attitude. It's not happening 'to me' it's just happening.
I have noticed that THE MOST SUCCESFUL people do not create problems or obsticales for thmeselves. They believe they deserve the best and they get it. They really have no other thought. They have a childlike innocence and a view of the world that it is all giving and they are recieving.
It is interesting to meet these people because I wonder, are they SUPER evolved beings or are they narcissists? I tend to think a bit of both, but it is a very powerful selfishness, not that they are not humble but they expect everything to work out. They expect to get what they want. It works. I don't mean selfish in a rude way I mean the word self-ish. They love and respect themselves and know they deserve to thrive and take advantage of all the riches and dreams the world offers.
I find the people with buried insecurity, doubt, fear and worry create problems for themselves. Problems that probably don't and may not truly exisit because their path is more about learning how to tackle the obstacles.
They create a life of attempting to tear down obstacles to get to what they want. They never actually GET what they want because that is NOT the life they are used to creating. They create a life of building obstacles. This becomes familiar and expected and the circle really never ends.
This is where I get:: " You are the problem and you are the solution" coming into effect.
First you must be keenly aware this pattern may exist in you. Good news: if some people have found away to EXPECT only to get what they want~ so can you! You can begin to GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY.
This is not an easy road but a road of choice. You must in each moment choose to see what you want instead of what you don't. You must choose to believe in yourself, instead of doubt, But more importanly the highest goal is to trust in the universe and that which is out of your control to deliever to you all you divinely deserve, your dreams come true. whatever that risk is.
The biggest is believing you are worth getting everything you want. Because then what? ?!I f you get everything you want, how will you live?! You only know how to live building these obtacles! You have to be ready to change! To change the way you think, to change the way you live and to change what you to believe about yourself and what you deserve. Really deep down feeling and visualising what life would be like if you got it...ALL! You are worth being happy. We all are. Get ready to RECIEVE.
It is a simple choice we make very hard. We chose to do laundry before calling that Agent or writing that next song or creating that mission statement ....why because doing laundry doesn't bring up insecurity or possible rejection. What if you thought about your next creative step towards your dream like doing laundry. Like you have NOTHING to lose, it can not hurt you. It would be ridiculous to think doing laundry would hurt you, right? So go about getting your dream with the same detachment and confidence.
This is how I see the successful people get at it. With a detached sence of power, confidence and faith. They are the solution without creating problems. They don't create problems or obstacles to begin with.
You can't control accidents or natural disaster I am not talking about those things. But even then it is attitude that can make you sink or swim. Heal or take on dis-ease.
My adorable client who inspired this Blog today came in wearing a Ganesh necklace. Ganesh is a Hindu deity form the 4th and 5th century. If you are familiar with dieties it is the one with the elephant head. It is worshiped as the Lord or Beginnings and the Remover of Obstacles. Patron of Atrs and Science and Deva of wisdom and Intellect.
http://www.sanatansociety.org/hindu_gods_and_goddesses/ganesha.htm or http://www.ganesh.us/ for more information.
Interestingly enough she was wearing it for protection. She was not aware of it's true power as the remover of obstacles which would help her tenfold. She was on the right path and instead of feeling like she needed to wear it to be protected (feeling like a victim) she needed on a higher level to remove self imposed obstacles. Which is EXACTLY why she was attracted to this symbol.
So if you feel you are creating obstacles for youself, awarenss is key. Connect with Ganesh if you are the meditating type or if you are visually stimulated perhaps take a look at an image or wear one or put one up in the house. No matter what your beliefs are, it is a simple reminder that YOU ARE THE SOLUTION.
Her boyfreind came in for a healing too and when he first came in he was distressed and said " I feel like there is a huge wall in front of me to climb in my life and I don't know if i can get over it or how to."
I said, "Meditate on it simply dissolving. Perhaps there is not really a wall at all." he completely understood. We are powerful beings. Powerful to create walls powerful to tear them down...and we are POWERFUL to deserve our dreams and our happiness to come with ease and grace. YOU must first TRUST, ALLOW and then get ready to...RECIEVE.
In sweetness and gratitude~
Kindall

Leggo My Eggo. I mean EGO.
The sure fire way to begin to eradicate the ego....is tada....by being VUNERABLE. Scary, impossible, challenginig, not happening...what words pop up for you? Where do I get off even saying this? Experience. Observation.
Take it or leave it...let your ego chew up and spit out what I am about to suggest. Up to you. I am just here to bring some awareness to subjects that Reiki and studying Energy has shown me. Literally, allow me to shed some LIGHT.
I started this blog a few days ago and to my dismay some people very close to me said I had been too open about my dating life, too honest about my experiences and that I may be putting negativity out there on the very thing I wsh to share. In the blog entry I hadn't painted a perfect picture of my experiences. I put out there my insecurities, when I am supposed to be the healer! How dare I! Well, here's the thing. Being honest, coming from truth, in my experience always seems to draw people IN not AWAY.
The dearest friends I have in my life have been ones who went from being an aquiantance, taking one healing session from me and suddenly being a friend for life the kind we would mutually jump in front of a bus for. Why did this happen? Because by them coming to me for a Reiki healing session we got in the sapce of being vunerable. We created a mutual space of trust.
Here's the thing about being perfect. I spent my life attempting to be perfect. Perfect hair, Perfect clothes, perfect social life ....yada yada. Where did that get me? Perfectly nowhere.
The dictionary definition of perfect is to be WHOLE and COMPLETE. Now, this is the only perfection I am striving for for myself and my clients. The feeling that no matter what is going down or up in your life you can feel this sense of inner completeness, wholeness.
When getting to know someone, vunerability is like a' let's be friends' Royal Flush. It's a winning hand. Why? because everyone is dealing with the same stuff in different clothes or different shapes. Everyone has insecurites, has had their heart broken, is worried about money....something is bugging them. When we open up to each other in our truth it is like exhaling. It is saying to the ego, guess what take a hike becuase I don't want to hide any more and let you whip me around exahusting me into making everyone think everything is fine.
I don't mean to say misery loves company so go around being a downer...it's about investing in REAL authentic communication. It's about letting your hair down and getting dirty sometimes. It is an ATTRACTIVE
way to be.
Here is an example.
Recently, I had a freind in town for his movie premiere. He brought his gorgeous, model looking girlfreind whom I had never met. She had heard alot about me and there MAY have been slight concern about this friend of her man's who was a girl. She was sweet as pie but our converations were polite and short, ' how's the weather' stuff. In the meantime, her boyfriend and my dear friend, the guest of honor who we were all there cheering on for his big movie premiere, did not only not want to walk the red carpet, he did not want to even stay for the movie. Instead we went for drinks. They had traveled about a thousand miles to go to it...
While having drinks we eventually discussed why he didn't want to go to the movie and be on the red carpet. He shared with me things he has had to deal with and then I shared my similar exeriences. Suddenly, his girlfreind was very interested in the conversation and I inquired more about her. As we talked she mentioned a few health problems. This 20 something, drop dead, stop traffic, hot girl was having the health problems of a 86 year old. My REIKI intuition was suddenly in high gear.
"What are you nervous about?" I asked. "Nothing" she said. I repeated, "Nothing?"
Suddenly, it was as if a light bulb went off...Her eyes opened wide. I said, "Anything you can't let go of?"
Her eyes welled up. She described an event in her life from almost 10 years ago that her boyfreind agreed to this day she holds onto.
With Reiki Healing you tend to see intuitively beyond what is physically going on with the body and how the past and our emotions can manifest into health issues. The kind of issues she was having physically told me she was holding in and suppressing when she really wanted to talk about it, possibly explain herself to someone, that forgiveness and apologies needed to be happening and her health problems would improve.
Two things happened. REIKI was in motion, which is an amazing and incredibke phenomenon and the other is three people got really vunerable. What happened in that 20 minutes was everyone became closer. Everyone felt cared about, everyone felt trust in place. I commend her for her openness and because she was able to be vunerable, she gained infromation that will help her.
There is this treasure chest on the otherside of being open and having the courage to be vunerable. I don't mean weak or complaining all the time. I mean connecting with people on a human level.
It is not neccessary to try so hard to be "perfect". Flaws and imperfections are what make us real, what allow others to feel safe around us.
I have a theory why all these strarlettes and young actors wind up in rehab, they are simply so exahusted of having to maintain a sense of perfection, It just eventually has to burst out of them, that they aren't! No one is.
Simply strive to be you. Where you are now. When you start judging yourself or others..'.check yourself before you wreck yourself'. The opposite of ego is love. The ego is why we are on this planet. Each of us has our personal mission to accomplish~ the war to win within ourselves. Our biggest mission is to rise above the ego mind and be in complete and whole acceptance of our divine selves.
So next time you reach for something to say, ask youself how authenic you are being. How real you are being.
See what happens when you chose to be a little vunerable.
I just did it a few minutes ago at the gym. I ran into a huge talent agent here in Hollywood. He asked how I was. I usually say "Great!" Today, I wasn't great and I expressed my truth. You know what happened? This huge Hollywood agent stopped his work out and hugged me. He said, "You're Beautiful, you know that." He's gay, to be clear so it was not about flirting. No, he got real right back with me.
Bottom line. Don't be afraid to be you...you're beautiful...with all your flaws and imperfections.
I will end with a quote from the Desertata:

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Energy Healing is Cool
Why oh why is it neccessary to have a blog called: "Energy Healing is Cool"?
I'm a Reiki Master Practitioner here in Los Angeles and also as a budding actress my two worlds tend collide quite often. One so loving, forgiving, embracing and compassionate...the other full of rejection, unforgiving, dog eat dog and competitve. (Sounds like Reiki verses my DATING life) I kid, but not really.
To be honest, that is where I got the idea for this Blog. As a Reiki Practitioner and Model/Actress I meet many different kinds of people. You would THINK the ones I meet in Yoga class or who are inquisitive about my Healing Practice would be the sensitve, understanding ones...but I have found some to be judgemental. Sometimes the actor model types are more open!
In the past the judgements and comments of some has held me back from expressing my gifts and knowledge of this wonderful healing modality. It is an important message to get out there, becuse if the practitioner is dealing with it, the people seeking the practitioner are dealing with it. This needs to stop.
Like the very air we breathe Reiki is invisible. We live in a very materialistic world. So many are programmed to believe if you can't touch it, eat it, drive it, ride it, smoke it, smell it or own it it has no value. Can you: drive, eat, ride, smoke, own air? No but guess what you would DIE with out it.
Power is another thing that you physically can not see but you can sense it. You know when someone has it. Reiki is much like this. It is as nurturing as air and is a great invisible powerful force.
Sometimes I think for some people, in the vast majority, it is not as easy to accept this powerful force which is invisible and non material. Not to say there are not extremely open minded people, extremely enlightened people who "get" it completely!
It has simply been my experience, my own very personal observation, that some still judge and think energy healing is wacky, new age-y, and for witches only...I have even been called, "crazy" for doing Reiki by someone who teaches yoga! Although he asked originally if we could trade a Reiki session for a Tarot reading becuase he thought Reiki was so "cool". When really, he was hitting on me. Someone who teaches yoga and reads tarot cards judging Reiki....hmmmm.
Another guy saw my Reiki Master certificate on my wall but never asked about it. A few months later he introduced me as the girl who does," black magic". OMG. I have to do it, I had to throw and OMG out there. It's kind of funny, really.
I have had friend/client explain her disappointment when her boyfriend said, "Oh witchcraft" after asking what Reiki was. For a while, after hearing these comments, I simply shut down.. I let other people's narrow mindedness hold me back.
I actually let OTHER people's closed mindedness STOP me from sharing one of the most healing, compassionate, transending, loving, nurturing things I have been absolutely blessed to experience!
Guess what kids, the wicked witch is dead, Dorothy got her. Even that was a fairytale...Women and men with the power to HELP others with something as positive as Reiki are COOL. I'm just sayin. We live in a CRAZY world. We need to stop judging and start learning. We need to ask questions before we form opinions.
There were major governmental debates recently about ending Medicare and Planned Parenthood. What if God forbid, we lost Medicare for our elderly? What if beyond 2012 getting a doctors appointment was like owning a Mercedez...reserved for the upper class. Well, Reiki or someone that knows how to do energy healing would all of a sudden be YOUR best asset. The ones who judged whould be searching high and low for the "witch".
Los Angeles is a very "cool" place. I have been to the hottest clubs, I have been on the Red Carpet, I have been on tv in commercials, shows and in movies, I've driven in the fastest, hottest cars and dated famous men, blah blah blah....
The coolest thing I have ever expereinced hands down is: REIKI. It has saved my life, it has blessed me with the oporrtunity to heal others, help others, turn people's saddness and confusion into joy and peace.
If you don't know what it is Google it before you judge it or judge me or your girlfriend or your friend who just booked a session. Maybe just maybe it will help you or someone you know. Reiki is even great for dogs, cats and horses!
I have worked on rescue horses at the California Coastal Horse Rescue. I have worked on people with cancer, I have worked on children, actors, models, CEOs, bartenders, photographers, real estate agents, athletes...you name it...we all haves stress, we all have "issues', we all have challenges. Let's STOP adding to it by judging each other. Being OPEN MINDED is an amazing place to start.
"Just for today do not worry, just for today do not anger, just for today be in gratitude, be humble, be honest in your work, just for today honor every living thing."~ Reiki Princilples
People who do Reiki are NOT witches or hippies. Call us what ever you want but not before you have the expereince of a Reiki session. Call me your Fairy God Mother and Angel...They are just lables.
The important thing to know is that Reiki is an ancient healing modality that was origianlly founded in Japan by Mikao Usui in the early 1800's. It is as non threatening as Acupuncture. No hocus pocus here.
I hope you enjoyed this Blog. I will be going into exactly what Reiki is in future blogs...I just had to get this out there. Someone somewhere must need to read this. It's kind of the sweet magic of Reiki!
Peace Out,
Kindall

What does Reiki Feel Like?
"Reiki is an individual experience and cannot adequately be expressed. However, it has been described by many as heat or warmth generating from the hands. Sometimes it feels tingly. When people send from a distance, people often feel a bubble of energy or love.
It is important to remember that you do not take in the other person's symptoms in order to heal them. You are there as an open and conscious channel of universal life force energy, like a straw which is open to draw down healing energy.
Besides from heat, the most reported feelings from a Reiki session which are deep feelings of love, compassion, relaxation, and often relief of physical or emotional pain."
Colors of the Chakras
The colors of the Chakras
First charka: Located at the base of your spine is the base or root. This spins, creative a ruby-red color, and relates to physical security, survival instincts, such as food, shelter, and warmth, and also basic material needs.
Second charka: In the abdomen is found the sacral center, 3 to 4 inches (8 to 10 centimeters) below the solar plexus. It spins slightly faster than the root chakra, appearing as a brilliant orange. This chakra connects to physical desires and emotions. It deals with physical pleasures, sex, food, and thrill-seeking. It is also associated with addictions and bodily habits, such as weight gain, health, exercise, sleep, and physical appearance.
Third major chakra or the solar-plexus: is found just above the navel and spins faster than the sacral chakra. The chakra is affected by thought and emotion and vibrates a pure yellow. Power and control are centered here: control over oneself, as well as over others.
Fourth chakra: heart, chakra deals with love and the realization of “oneness.” The heart is the first of the upper chakras, and its spin is medium to fast; it resonates with the emerald green, and also pink. The heart chakra is affected by thought and feelings concerning all relationships: with family, lovers, friends, colleagues, employers, teachers, peers, and strangers. Love of all kinds-romantic, platonic, and divine, as well as love of the higher self-are centered in the heart chakra. This major chakra also deals with relationship obsessions, codependency, and negative relationship addictions, forgiveness, or lack of forgiveness. This chakra is fundamental to the development of clairsentience, or “clear feeling.”
Fifth chakra: the throat chakra, is found just in front of the Adam’s apple. It spins rapidly and is colored sky blue. This chakra relates to communication and speaking the truth-to yourself, as well as others. It is concerned with creative projects, such as art, singing, writing, channeling, and teaching.
Sixth and Seventh chakras: are inside the head, just above each ear. Their colors are maroon or red-violet. The ear chakras relate not only to divine communication and clairaudience, but also to what is heard and what has been heard, including personal phrases (usually repeated) verbal abuse, the energy of music, and environmental noises.
Eighth major chakra: is known as the “third eye.” It is oval in shape and is found between the physical eyes. It is called the third eye because it has an eye in the center radiation a deep indigo blue. The third eye is turned inward, facing your identity; it is the eye of your higher self. This chakra records everything that you feel, think, and do. It is believed that one watches a playback of this “life movie” when one passes on to a higher plan. The third eye deals with how you relate to your future, as well as to the past, including past lives. It is also concerned with your beliefs about the spirit world, as well as your fear or desire to see angels or apparitions. A clear, unblocked third eye will link you strongly to your higher self.
The Ninth and final chakra: the crown, lies just inside the top of the head and resembles a ceiling fan that is a rich, deep, royal purple, This is the receiving center and is concerned with claircognizance or “clear knowing’: the ability to receive information and ideas from the collective unconscious or the divine mind. This chakra is often very active in creative people who can pick up inspiration from the cosmos. This chakra is related to religion or spirituality and our relationship to God and divine guidance. This chakra deals with spiritual trust, when we believe that we receive information from the etheric plane without knowing “how” we know.
